Karl Raidan Abstract Artworks

I never considered myself an artist. However, after discovering I had a life changing medical condition, I joined the Inside Out Community in Ipswich to help with my wellbeing. There I developed a talent for putting my own twist on whatever the topic of each session was. 

During the pandemic the group stopped meeting and I started painting at home using whatever was to hand. On showing this work to others in the group I was surprised by how positive their reaction was.

My work has been included in exhibitions at several locations and I run workshops for groups helping people improve their wellbeing.

My art is very rarely planned. I use objects I have lying around at home or find in my daily life. Anything with an interesting shape or texture is added to my collection of ‘stuff’ that I use to paint with. I don’t incorporate these items in my art but use them to paint abstract art. I prefer working in acrylic though I also combine this with other mediums in some of my work.

I am generally not concerned about the finished work it is the process that interests me and how the different items I use come together to create interest in the painting.
